So my new commute has begun in ernest with a new train (in terms of different time to the one I used to get, the train itself is one of the crappy old ones) and a slightly extended walk at the other end. Being the slow train it’s got free seats, which are important for an hour long journey, but it’s all a little cramped a few stops further in so I’m wondering if I should give the intercity at that time a go. It’ll get me in 15 minutes earlier but I suspect the perceived extra comfort will be unrealised as I find myself sitting (or worse, standing) in the vestibule for the whole trip. I guess I should I should suck it and see, possibly while I’m still relaxed from my holiday.
