Road markings
The funny white circle painted on the road just before the entrance of Colchester stations main carpark is a mini roundabout. Don’t be fooled by its deminutive size, the rules of roundabouts still apply which means charging over it at insane speeds while cutting up the bus (a manouver I see almost daily) is breaking the rules of the road and could be considered driving without due care and attention. I think the local police could have a whale of a time if they just stood someone by that roundabout from 6:30 to 7:30. Not only could they fine about 60 people, they could also make them miss their train.

The highway code says the vehicles are exempt from driving around mini roundabouts if they are physically too large to do so. I’ve certainly come across some über mini roundabouts that even a Smart car would have trouble getting around, but that doesn’t excuse the driving over “at insane speeds.”
Personally, I think all roundabouts should be replaced with traffic lights that are hard-coded to show green for the route I want to take.

I am not complaining about the lack of driving ‘around’ the roundabout, it’s the cars entering the roundabout and cutting up busses and other cards that have already entered the roundabout that is the problem. They should be giving way. As it is the busses now treat it as if there was no roundabout there and they were turning right as it’s safer for them.
