Hit and run

OK, so I don’t drive so I may have misunderstood the highway code, however, I’m pretty sure that even Royal Mail vans need to stop when they’ve mounted a curb and struck a pedestrian with thier wing mirror. So I wasn’t rolling around the floor in pain but having a quick look in the mirror and then driving off without so much as a “sorry” is just plain wrong. He’s very lucky I didn’t get his registration number.

  1. I was once overtaking a pensioner on a footpath in Bedford (pushing me closer to the kerb) when I felt something strike the back of my hand with some force.

After exclaiming “what the ****” and looking over my shoulder to see nothing there (obviously!), I looked ahead again and noticed a Ford Ka driving away from me with it’s wing mirror hanging off.

    My hand was fine!

    Dan 1, Ka 0!

  2. That’s happened to me too - hit on the elbow by someone’s door mirror. Bloddy hurt, as it happens, but they just zoomed off.

Not sure it was a Ka, but certainly something of that ilk (small and crap and driven by chavs)

  3. Hit on the elbow by a Ford Ka? How tall are you??!!??

(My ex used to own a Ford Ka - she wasn’t a chav. You can’t sit in the back of one if you’re over four foot tall, and the legroom in the front isn’t much better either.)
